Based on the construction requirements of the "1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end polyolefin project" at its Yantai base, Wanhua Chemical procured the general-purpose process simulation software — Honghu Process Simulation System (SimTech Simulator), independently developed by SimTech. Using this software, Wanhua built a full-process model for the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant, and the simulation results showed a high degree of consistency with the process package data. After completing the modeling of the process unit simulations, Wanhua utilized the relief load analysis and calculation module built into SimTech Simulator to calculate the relief loads of pressure vessels in the ethylene plant under various accident scenarios. The calculation results were accurate and reliable, effectively addressing the analysis and bottleneck optimization of the entire plant's flare system.
Overall, the general-purpose process simulation software — SimTech Simulator is comparable in sophistication to similar imported foreign software and is fully capable of performing process simulations for petrochemical process units.
